A happy new year, I hope you enjoyed your time off and feel fully recharged for the year ahead. The question is โ what are we expecting this year? My top tips are:
- Inflation continues to be a problem with it reaching 7% in the late spring / early summer.
- Interest rates to rise slightly quicker than expected โ people have been pencilling in a rise to 0.75% by the end of 2022, Iโd expect that to be 1% or higher.
- Rents and house prices to continue increasing at a slightly slower pace than the previous 2 years.
- And hopefully for all of us, that Covid becomes a โnew normalโ where we begin to deal with it as part of our way of life rather than from emergency to emergency.
Whatโre your thoughts?
Also with a new year do you think weโll revert back to some of our old ways?
When developing properties we always try and protect them for the long term, a lot of the materials we use are either hardwearing or coloured to hide wear & tear / dirt. We usually use grey laminate but a landlord recently asked us to use an oak effect, what do you think?
Do you think itโs time to go back to some of the older materials so they stand out more or stick to our tried and trusted solutions?
Itโs a new year, is there a new way of doing things? Weโd love to hear your thoughts since weโre always striving to get the best and most cost effective finish and the best way to do this is by sharing ideas!
