Being a landlord is all gravy – RIGHT!!
You know what earning a passive income while putting your feet up watching the masked singer is everyone’s goal – right?
Well maybe not the masked singer but that’s what we’re all aiming for in a property, a steady income stream with rising asset values paying for our early retirement.
With the way inflation is at the moment I’m hoping we’ll get there sooner than we think – if we can stay ahead of the interest rate curve that is!
It isn’t always straightforward, continually with the property you’re trying to problem-solve:
- Your tenant has gone onto benefits, how do I navigate universal credit?
- The tenant keeps complaining about maintenance – what needs doing?
But to be honest, that’s why we LOVE property, every day is different and the problems are easily understandable and solvable – we’re not talking nuclear physics just a little bit of common sense, knowledge and experience can go a long way.
Luckily we’ve got an experienced team, Chris our senior property manager has over 10 years of experience in the lettings industry and day in day out visits properties and tries to solve any issues that arise.
One of the commonest problems is dampness – I know I keep going on about this but we see a multitude of problems from damp caused by guttering, pointing, houses not being aired properly etc etc. It’s also one of the most common things a tenant will complain about.
The particular problem Chris discovered below was a floor becoming warped.
You might think a flooring problem would instantly mean pulling up the floorboards and having a look but it’s always best to systematically and slowly check before rushing in with your solution.
Anyway see the video below and find out what caused the issue and how we solved it. See video:
As you can see taking a little bit of time problem solving could save you a lot of time later and also MONEY.
It’s our job to SAVE YOU MONEY!
