Want a quick update on earning crypto from your property…

Last month we installed four Helium Boxes in our properties to see if we could earn money from crypto.

So what is Helium?

Helium is a cryptocurrency dubbed “The People’s Network” its aim is to become a blockchain-powered wireless service that provides a long-range connection to nearby Internet of Things (IOT) devices, like scooters and certain smart devices. (Think a broadband replacement).

Owners of hotspots (i.e. Helium Boxes) earn Helium tokens (HNT) for their initial investment, by mining the tokens, and for hosting the network. The Helium network transmits data over long distances with low power.

So how much is a Helium box?

We paid just under £500 a helium box and all-in after installation paid around £750 a box.

How much are you earning?

Last time we looked we were earning £10 – £12 a day off the 4 boxes.

Are there any other costs?

We pay £12.50 + VAT a month for broadband at each property.

What’s our profit?

On the 4 boxes, we’re earning net of costs approximately £250 – £300 per month.

When will our investment be paid off?

At current rates, it’ll take around 10 months to pay off our initial investment.

Is there any further upside?

Helium is currently trading at 20% of the value it was trading in January 2022, so if it returned to this price we’d pay off our investment in 2 months with the rest being profit (approximately £1,250 – £1,500 per month).

Are you continuing to invest?

We’re putting in 22 Helium boxes in our properties and seeing how they perform.

What we’re looking for in the future?

If the crypto market explodes once again we want to be in a position to take advantage, using our properties to maximise our income. It’s all about timing…
