I thought it would NEVER happen! We’re getting to normal in the housing market.
As you may know, the notice periods for getting possession back on a property have moved all over the place in the last 18 months. We’ve had six-month, four-month and now finally two-month notice periods, returning to pre-COVID levels.
This has been a nightmare, with the goalposts moving continually but finally, we have returned to normality. From 1 October 2021 new prescribed forms to complete for Section 8 and Section 21 notices have been issued with older forms now considered invalid.
It should be noted though that the government “intends to retain the power to implement any similar measures again in the future should the public health situation worsen”.
So what does this mean to you if you want to get back possession of your property?
What we advise:
Firstly we still recommend using a legal representative to draw up your Section 8 & Section 21 notices (we do), since it’s easy to download the wrong form or fill in the wrong information. With the courts being backlogged you don’t want any delays in getting your property back.
If you’ve got any problems with your tenants or getting possession, let us know since we can provide you with a course of action to get your property back on track.
Remember – It’s our job to generate YOU wealth from YOUR property.
