In this weekโ€™s video, Chris shares his recent experience with an unsuccessful home visit.

It is important to note that, on paper, this tenant was perfect:

โœ…Great affordability

โœ…Great availability for move-in

โœ…Amazing landlord references

Some agents may take that at face value and move the tenant in right awayโ€ฆ

With over 15 years of experience, we understand that you have the best chance of avoiding a tough tenancy BEFORE the tenancy begins.

A home visit is the final piece of the puzzle in terms of confirming your vetting process and doing your due diligence. In this case, although it can be disappointing to turn a tenant away after a full vetting process, it is still FAR easier to find a new suitable tenant than trying to evict a problem tenant once the tenancy begins.

The landlord of this property was over the moon that we had gone the extra mile to protect their investment but for us, this comes as standard in our tenant find and fully managed packages.
